close cut

I am so intrigued by Danish artist Peter Callesen. Cut from simple A4 paper, his pieces are incredibly detailed, and display levels of craftsmanship and patience I just can't wrap my mind around.

paper trail

These cut paper configurations by Seattle artist Katy Stone have me wishing I had her ability and ambition. Her pieces are so intricately beautiful and colorfully kaleidoscopic.

deep cuts

I'm utterly enchanted by these papercuts designed by Chad Merritt (monpetitfantome.) They have a slightly gruesome charm I just can't resist. You can purchase prints of each in his etsy shop, visit his blog, or follow him on twitter.

from my portfolio

For the next few days, I'll post some work from my concentration, a component to the portfolio I had to submit for AP 3D Design this past school year. I focused on creating animal heads inspired by people or events, all made of non-traditional materials. All of my heads were photographed being worn in real life situations to blur the line between man and animal.
